London Vintage – Launching a modern classic
Overview —
London based contemporary jewellery makers, London Vintage, approached us back in August last year with the task of putting together their brand.
With a launch date of February 2018, the initial plan was to develop a logo and pattern design that would represent their art deco yet modern approach.
Creating a brand —
The client provided some vintage decorative patterns that were purchased from the Designers Guild. This allowed us to create the repeating V, resulting in a seamless pattern that would reproduce well.
We opted for a clean mono palette, that would really compliment the jewellery. Along with the pattern, this was applied to gift boxes and gift bag designs, finished with silver foiling to the logo, reflecting the unique pieces of jewellery that London Vintage design and manufacture.
Photography —
Our photography brief was to shoot the ranges grouped together in a consistent way to reflect the brand.
We felt that the products would stand out more on a darker background and tried a few ways to present the jewellery in an interesting and striking way.
Although we liked the look of the initial shots we felt they would be too restrictive for showcasing all the different jewellery pieces. We then decided to use slightly raised, white and grey panels in V shapes that reflected the logo pattern. This gave us the look we wanted and the scope needed for the different shots.
Finishing touches —
To finish off we produced a beautiful, responsive website as well as a range of point-of-sale material, care guides and stationery to further endorse the brand to potential stockists.
The launch coincided with the Spring Show in Birmingham. We were tasked with producing a bespoke exhibition stand that would showcase the jewellery and the London Vintage brand. We looked after every stage, from the 3D designs to demonstrate the use of plinths and how the stand would work, to the install and set up.
The stand looked fantastic and was a great success.
Thoughts —
This has been a really great project to work on, and one we are all very proud of at Insight. The team at London Vintage have been a real pleasure to work with and we look forward to working alongside them as the brand continues to grow.
